Full Moon

There are no stars in the sky tonight
For their shine can’t compare
They hide away for today is the day…

I look at the sky, no shining eyes look back
Instead the brightness of the moon completes the sky
And takes my breath away… oh, I wish you had stayed

The full moon is like me and you,
Perfect and whole but only for so long.
Here one day, gone the next
We thought we’d have forever
When we only had a full moon.

Not so rare but oh so beautiful,
Remember the one night where we’d lay
Close by to watch the moon rise…

We’d watch the black sky, hand in hand
The man in the moon is my only company now
He listens but he can’t touch like you can

The full moon was like me and you,
Perfect and whole but only for so long.
Here one day, gone the next.
We thought we’d have forever
When we only had a full moon.

As I gaze upwards tonight, that shining face looks down
It is so complete like we used to be
Deep inside I hope you’re looking at the full moon
But the odds of that are once in a blue…

The full moon was like me and you,
Perfect and whole but only for so long.
Here one day, gone the next.
We thought we’d have forever
When we only had a full moon.

Twinkle, twinkle little star
How I wonder where you are
Up above the world so high
The moon tonight, it shines so bright
Twinkle, twinkle little star
How I wonder where you are

solar flare error

that awkward moment
when you’ve written
a whole long poem
pouring your heart out
saying how important it is
to share kisses that mean something
about how finding love
makes kisses that much more

only to have that unexpected
solar flare knock everything out
including your portable device’s
connectivity to the internet
so when you go to upload
that oh-so lovely poem
with words that cause tears
and it’s not there

*sigh* It was a good poem too but I don’t know if I could recreate it quite the same.

We

What someone wants is
hardly ever what they need.

What someone needs isn’t
always what they want.

The one thing every person
both wants and needs
is love.
